Montessori Education:
Hands-on learning with an open heart.

Hilltop Montessori School opened in August, 2003.  We started out with 4 students!  Now we have almost filled our three buildings with classes for Infants (3 months to 18 months), Toddlers (18 months to 3),  one Primary class (ages 3 to 6) and  our Elementary I (ages 6 to 9) and Elementary II (ages 9 to 12) classes are combined .

The Fall of 2011 brought big changes to Hilltop with the addition of our third building. It houses a spacious new classroom for the Primary class.

Our lead teachers are Montessori certified by the American Montessori Society (AMS)  or a MACTE (Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education) accredited independent Montessori training center in their areas of responsibility.  This specialized training is in addition to a bachelor's degree in varying fields.  Our director, Julie Winnette, has a Master of Education degree with a Montessori Emphasis. Ms. Winnette holds credentials for E I and E II.  She guides the Elementary class when it is in session.  Currently she is the Assistant to Infancy in the Nido classroom.

All members of our staff bring a love of children and an understanding of the developmental needs of young children to their work.  We strive to see things as a child might perceive them to better understand the actions and words of the child.  Our goal is for our school to be a fun, comfortable, and challenging place to learn.
